An anti bacterial medicine, Flagyl is used for the treatment of infections of the skin, urinary tract, vagina, abdomen, bones, joints, lungs and brain.
Always keep a tab on the drugs when you are on Flagyl medication. Better complete the whole course of the dosage and take care not to take an overdose as these can only increase the risk of the infections to relapse.
If you have not taken a dosage, just take it when you remember it. However, if it is time for your regular dosage, skip the missed one and continue with your scheduled doses.
While taking Flagyl, you should avoid alcohol as it can lead to several side effects like headache, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting and flushing. If you want to have alcohol, you can take it only 72 hours after stopping the drug. It is also advised to stop drugs that contain alcohol.

As like all medicines, Flagyl also comes with many side effects. Numbness (arms, legs, hands, and feet) and seizures are commonly seen side effects that come with Flagyl. In case you come across these, call your doctor immediately.
